How many times will people have to die needlessly from trailer accidents in Lagos before enough is enough?
One of the missions of our storytelling is to shine the light on those issues we hide or we want to move on from.
Trailer accidents continue to kill fellow citizens in Lagos. They killed some this year. They will kill kore next year. How can we just move like this is normal?
I am thankfully to the family of one of the deceased for sharing fully and honestly the tragedy that has befalling them, the government that has forgotten and how they are handling the abandonment and the pain.
I thank the trailer drivers who spoke honestly with me about why this happened, why it continues to happen and what we must do.
This was beyond emotional. This is also an urgent crisis. It could be any of us next.
