I paid the price of having a connection with my children then. Sometimes when I came back to Nigeria I cry and ask myself what I’m doing exactly. I left my daughter at 13 and my son was 11. Mind you I was a hands-on mother. I resigned from my job to take care of my children and that was why I gave birth to two children. So when they grew up to a certain age I went back to work. But I sacrificed everything because I believe they didn’t ask to be born so I wanted to give them everything. So leaving them with their father was a huge sacrifice but it turned around for good.
