As we celebrate the international girl child day, I remember my conversation with my dear friend Chioma. She said the absolute truth with so much confidence.
Chioma Agwuegbo ripped off the band-aid, ignored the pretty and sometimes patronising, and confronted the work that still needs to be done for equality and safety of women and girls in Nigeria and the world.
We kick off the conversation from the infamous Jeffrey Toobin incident in America – an issue for which she had some education on male privileges to share with me some years back.
Chioma’s work over the past few years has been incredibly inspiring and empowering for many especially the girl child.
It was a gift to sit, listen and learn from Chioma.
