“The Real Housewives of Lagos show was a very toxic environment for me.” — Chioma ‘Good Hair’ Ikokwu
On today’s episode of #WithChude, Chioma shares her experience at the popular television show “The Real Housewives of Lagos.”
CHUDE: what drove you at eighteen to start a business?
CHIOMA: Honestly, I think it is because I’m Igbo from Anambra, Oba to be precise. Lol
You have to understand that making money is in my blood.
CHUDE: Where is the name ‘Good hair’ coming from? You know for those of us that are ignorant, just assume I came after asking about the good hair.
CHIOMA: We wanted something easy and catchy and would be self-explanatory. That would be good hair. So, we came up with ‘Good hair’.
CHUDE: why did you do The Real Housewives of Lagos?
CHIOMA: when the role of housewife of Lagos came along I knew it was a No for me. When they approached me, I blatantly said no. But I wanted something to challenge and push me then I joined.
CHUDE: did you enjoy it?
CHIOMA: Some parts of it I enjoyed the show, but I didn’t enjoy some parts. It was a very toxic environment.
CHUDE: The first short fire was when you said you didn’t know Laura… So, tell us what that was.
CHIOMA: I didn’t say I don’t know Laura, I was saying Laura was upset because someone called her a clown. I was like that was not even an insult. I don’t want to be perceived as somebody that came on television and is fighting or engaging in arguments. That’s not the legacy I want to leave.
