“My wife was hale and hearty at 11 pm on Saturday but then, she died at 2 am on Sunday.” — Pastor Ituah Ighodalo
I had the most beautiful conversation with Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.
We talked about the eternal Ibidun – using her as a pathway to speak about the theme of Pastor Ituah’s life: Love.
The deepest, truest, and purest form of love.
Pastor Ituah – Finding strength in painful seasons!
It was unreal how Pastor Ituah had the courage and strength to comfort others right in the face of glaring pain and sudden loss.
He had promised a lady he would conduct the burial service for her son, and that same day…He loses his wife.
“… that lady, I had given her my word, I gave her my word on a Friday, then my wife dies at 2 am on Sunday morning. I had given the lady that date, 1 O’Clock – that I would help her bury her son.
“My wife was hale and hearty at 11 pm on Saturday, she died at 2 am. It wasn’t in the calculation, and when I realized that she had died, I asked God a few questions, and he gave me my answer. I then asked God what I should do, and He says Carry on with what you have to do.
“So I asked him for courage, and he gave it to me, and I stepped out that morning. First of all, I went to church and preached the message. I then left the church and went to see my mother-in-law, I comforted her, I begged her and I prayed with her. I then went to conduct the funeral service of the lady’s son as I had promised. When I had finished the funeral, I went back to my house and then started looking for my wife.”
