One of the things I was just saying to my crew is that we come to the world to die.
When we think of that, it’s a really scary thought – but there’s another way we can look at it. Perhaps if many of us face the reality of death and life with more clarity, we won’t accept the things that religion tells us, that ideology tells us, that invincible structures of society tell us.
If we actually think for ourselves better about the nature of the life that we live, about what death means and how present it is with us, then we’re going to make better choices about –
Do you want to get married or not?
Do you want kids or not?
How many kids do you want?
What kind of jobs do you want to do?
What kind of friends do you need?
What should you be saying on the internet?
Who should be visiting your house?
If you embrace the reality of death, what kind of life would you be living?
I think when you ask yourself the kind of heavy important questions that Etinosa has asked herself, then the nature and quality of the life that you live changes.
