Mama passed on last week – at the age of 84.
She was Nigeria’s first female major general.
She gave me her last TV interview before she passed.
We spoke to the discrimination she faced in the army because she was a woman, her battle to be recognised and grow through the ranks, the searing pain of losing a child, and what she thinks about Nigeria today.
