“I thought the relationship between my dad, and I will be rekindled” –Bisola Aiyeola

I actually thought maybe my talking to my dad would spark something or make him want to reach out to me more but after talking to him it just kind of dawned on me that there’s nothing here, there’s no need to push or force It. Moreover, he wasn’t there for you growing up.

Afterwards, I did have an interview where we were talking about my dad and growing up. I shared some things about how sad and how I felt he wasn’t there for me enough. Then I got messages from my half-siblings who are older than I am you know and they told me “We all went through the same thing with this man, so it wasn’t peculiar to just you or your sister”.  This kind of cushions the bluey beats you know, knowing that we weren’t the only ones that went through his neglect.
