Mercy talks about relationships in the Big Brother Naija house and what they call ‘ships’ and that the worst part of it is because people believe that these relationships are what the fans want, people believe that these relationships are what the brands want, people think that these relationships are what helped people succeed outside the house, people do all they can to stay inside these relationships.

Sometimes they find themselves performing happiness in these relationships because they believe it is the perception that people want. She says people are often even performing happiness in their relationships to people who don’t have relationships to speak of in the first place and therein lies a tragedy wrapped inside comedy because essentially many of us are allowing our lives to be dictated by people or allowing people to tell us how to live our lives, people who haven’t figured out how to live theirs.
