Greatness Olorunfemi’s Story Validated the mission of #WithChude Show.
I woke up one morning to a rush of messages – one of my guests from 2022, Greatness Olorunfemi had passed.
Apparently, news of the terrible tragedy from ‘one chance’ motorists had been viral across the blogs. What a painful way to go.
This weekend, the show wants all of us to pause and reflect on death.
Greatness Olorunfemi was one of the most striking guests of our show. The show is known for interviewing the famous, but the real heart of the show is when I interview the non-famous and their stories are so powerful that everyone pays attention. Greatness was one of those who did this for us – and validated our mission.
Her interview was an accident. We had invited her for a special panel, but the more she spoke the more it struck me that these waters ran deeper. So I told the producers we should do a one-on-one interview with her same day.
And what an interview. She inspired and blessed many with her story of surviving domestic abuse before her wedding, cancelling the wedding despite her position in church, and mapping her path to freedom.
We received endless messages about that episode. The truths she spoke resonated deeply with so many around the world.
And so Death has no victory here. The gift of her story, the power of her truth, and the thousands of hearts and souls she touched will be grateful to her for being, for speaking, for showing up fully in the world.
